Finasteride Test

Indicated for the treatment of men with male pattern hair loss to increase hair growth and prevent further hair loss, for those over 18 years of age.

This product is not suitable or available for patients who:

• are female

• are under 18 years

• are hypersensitive to the active substances, to any of the excipients or trace residuals listed in the Summary of Product Characteristics (SPC) of the selected product of Finasteride 1mg tablets

• are taking any medicines that are listed for contraindications within the SPC (see ‘Drug interactions’ in this PGD or the SPC available on the electronic medicines compendium (emc))

• have prostate cancer

• are taking 'Proscar' (finasteride 5 mg) or any other 5α-reductase inhibitor for benign prostatic hyperplasia or any other condition

• have rare hereditary problems of galactose intolerance, total lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption
  

The supply of Finasteride should be determined after careful risk assessment of an individual’s medical history.
